Gameplay · Plan the board. Change the moment.

Arrange ingredients, open space on the board, and choose when to use a helper. See how each decision can change the game.

Watch out for the thief cat

This mischievous visitor does more than watch. When it is time to steal, the cat removes an ingredient from the board, changing what you had prepared. Watch its counter and adapt your recipe plan.

Worn equipment? Bring a repair kit

Some recipes need equipment with limited durability. Once it wears out, recipes relying on it cannot continue. Select the repair helper and tap the equipment to restore durability and get crafting again.

Start with a recipe. Get to know the whole bay.

Luma Bay connects decisions on the board with a journey through one shared world: recipes to solve, helpers to choose, and stories to uncover.

An actual recipe: tea leaves + hot water + cup → warm tea. Arrange different ingredients to craft an item. Some stage goals ask for crafted items; others ask you to collect ingredients, so read both the recipe and the goal.

Warm tea · Start with three ingredients

A cup, hot water, and tea leaves combine into warm tea. Open the recipe from a board goal whenever you want to check what to prepare.

Lantern panel · Plan several steps ahead

First mix a bottle of pigment and use it to paint a canvas. Sew cloth with the sewing machine, then combine the painting, sewn cloth, and ribbon into a lantern panel. The recipe window lets you follow the subrecipes and plan your ingredients.

These are just two recipes along the journey. Many more objects and connected recipes await your discovery around the bay.

As you travel, your puzzle thinking grows.

More than the scenery changes. Your journey introduces ingredients, objects, and recipes tied to the unfolding story. Crafting one object grows into preparing several parts for what happens next, using the recipe rules you already know.

  1. Hot water, an ingredient in warm tea

The first day · Learn with a cup of tea

Nora’s inn welcomes you with familiar things. A cup, hot water, and tea leaves form a simple recipe that introduces preparing ingredients on the board.

Think about the ingredients in front of you: what do you need, and how will you line them up?

  2. The Blue Saucer teacup boat, crafted from several recipe parts

The teacup-boat race · Prepare the parts

When Cora invites you onto the bay, the task grows from small objects into the Blue Saucer: hull, sail, seat, rudder, pennant mast, and rope reel. Something you craft can become an ingredient in the next creation.

Plan a sequence: prepare different parts before combining them into a larger recipe.

  3. The Moonwell post perch from the mail story

Letters from Moonwell · Craft with a purpose

While helping Nella gather letters floating into town, you encounter stamped envelopes, tied letters, and parts for the Moonwell post perch. What you collect and craft connects with the people and events around you.

Read each stage’s goals: sometimes you collect ingredients; sometimes you need the finished creation.

  4. A lantern panel, the result of a nested recipe

Further along · Recipes within recipes

A lantern panel calls for mixed pigment, a painted canvas, and sewn cloth. With subrecipes and equipment such as a mortar or sewing machine, choosing what to make first and managing durability matter more.

Look beyond one swap: follow subrecipes, watch durability, and choose when a helper will help most.

Along the way, thief cats, blockers, goals, and move budgets change the plan you need. What you learned from earlier recipes helps with new challenges. These are only a few moments around the bay—more people, ingredients, and stories await your discovery.

Many helpers. More ways to find them.

Keep playing without waiting for stage-entry energy. When you want to change the game’s pace, prepare with your inventory, roulette, and rewards from activities around the bay.

On the board, change your next move

Use your stock, or buy during play
Choose a helper from your inventory in the bottom bar. Need more? Open the shop during play, spend Gold on the type you need, and return to the board.
Energy roulette
Play fills the board’s energy meter. When it is ready, spin for a helper and use it on the current board. This energy earns helpers; it is not a stage-entry cost.

Explore the bay. Return prepared.

Farm · Gather supplies
Play Farm stages for Gold and reward chests. Chests can contain helpers; save Gold to buy supplies before returning to tougher stages.
Collection · Craft toward rewards
Discover and use items to reach Collection milestones, then claim the Gold or chest shown for each reward. Crafting can help prepare supplies for the journey ahead.
Shop · Choose your helper
Spend Gold on helpers that suit your plan. Pack a repair kit for worn equipment or choose a board helper before setting out.
Ads Reward · An optional boost
Choose to watch a rewarded ad for Gold and work toward gift milestones. Put the rewards toward supplies; viewing charges and refill times apply.
Quest · Goals along the adventure
Take crafting or ingredient-collection quests and progress as you play. Rewards can be chests, Gold, or helpers depending on the quest and your progression. Check the reward and remaining time before starting.

Combine the routes that suit you. Farming, Collection, quests, and shop supplies are all part of an adventure at your own pace.

Normal: Craft the recipe

From a visitor watching whales to someone the bay waits for.

Luma Bay’s story follows a journey that gradually gives you a place in other people’s lives through play, the things you prepare, and the stories you choose to stay for.

It starts a day too late

You reach Luma Bay one day after the whales have passed. Nora’s inn still has warm snacks to welcome you—until the food floats toward an upstairs window and a sneeze comes from behind a curtain, with no thief’s footprints in sight.

When you set down a snack and wait, Pip—the young whale hiding in the attic—floats over by itself. You were about to pack and leave; instead, you stay another night. Pip is learning to trust you, but still calls across the bay for its pod.

From a passing guest, your journey brings you to June, a market with an unfinished song, a garden in a reflection, and people who gradually become familiar. Recipes prepare things for the unfolding events; each journey leaves a story to return to.

Nora
The innkeeper who opens the window for an unexpected guest and keeps your room key ready when you stay.
June
An artist and companion who follows curious clues, from a snack thief with no footprints to a garden in a reflection.
Pip
A young whale hiding in the attic, slowly learning to trust you while calling toward the bay for its pod.

Nora, June, and Pip are only the beginning. Many more people await, with stories that unfold as you adventure. Set out and meet them for yourself.

More stories along the way

The garden blooming in a mirror

Felix’s postcard stays still while its reflected flowers sway. The name Moonmere and a building on the hill draw you and June out to investigate.

The teacup-boat race

Teacup boats are practicing in the bay. Cora invites you aboard, turning the preparation of boat parts into part of the unfolding story.

The night letters filled the town

A gust lifts a mail crate and paper birds rise above the tea shop. Help Nella gather the news from Moonwell without opening someone else’s letters.

These are just a few stories along the way. More places, encounters, and mysteries await your discovery, with their endings still yours to uncover.

Memory albums organized by chapter

Play and revisit your memories anytime.

Memory organizes encountered stories into chapter pages and scenes, with summaries drawn from each scene’s narration. Revisit who you met and what happened without remembering every conversation from your previous session.

In Collection, every item has a place
